To help safeguard public health, Manila Water has released its October schedule for septic tank cleaning in 22 barangays across the East Zone of Metro Manila and parts of Rizal.
Regular desludging helps prevent septic tank overflow during heavy rains, which may lead to the spread of waterborne diseases. This initiative forms part of the company’s ongoing efforts to promote safe sanitation and protect the environment.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this service at no added cost by coordinating with their barangay offices to be listed. The East Zone water and wastewater concessionaire is advising its customers to have their septic tanks siphoned every five years.
“Desludging is one of the frontline defenses against overflow and disease. By keeping septic systems in check, we help protect our communities from the health and environmental risks that come with untreated wastewater, especially during the rainy season,” said Jeric Sevilla, Corporate Communication Affairs Group Director.
For this month of October, the Manila Water desludging team will be deployed in barangays San Isidro and San Juan in Taytay, Rizal; San Isidro in Montalban (Rodriguez); Silangan in San Mateo, Rizal; San Jose and Mayamot in Antipolo City; Rosario, Santo Tomas, Manggahan, and Kalawaan in Pasig City; Napindan in Taguig City; Balong-bato, Pasadena, Pedro Cruz, San Perfecto, and Greenhills in San Juan City; Damayang Lagi, Nayong Kanluran, New Era, San Martin de Porres, and San Roque in Quezon City; and Tejeros in Makati City.
